Impossible to find quality ingredients

I yearn to find quality ingredients in this neighborhood.  I have my spots for certain ingredients, however, this neighborhood lacks anything in the way of upscale ingredients.  With the exception of Piazza Mercato it is nearly impossible to find items such as (wild arugula, baby arugula, lemons that aren't golf ball sized, bread that isn't yellow, pastas other than the cheap ronzoni brand, above average wines that aren't in a box, etc, etc, etc.  The farmers market that lingered for a few fall weekends was very skimpy in it's selection.  As a person who is deeply passionate about food, it is discouraging when you are in need of shitake mushrooms, and you have to settle for wet, boggy slimy mushrooms at mostly every fruit/vegetable store.  I've scoured this neighborhood for ingredients, and I have come to the conclusion that you cannot find fresh, qulaity produce, meats, etc.  Maybe there isn't a market here for a Trader Joes, Whole Foods, but there has to be some changes.  Frank and Eddies does not enamor me, nor does Cangiano's.  If I didn't have a car to drive into other neighborhoods to shop, i would have to succomb to Ronzoni fusili with Hunts tomato sauce out of a can with stale dried basil.
